Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SmartDaddy (“https://smartdaddy.in”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website. By using SmartDaddy, you agree to the terms described below.

1. Information We Collect

SmartDaddy does not require registration or login to use our calculators, fund data, or informational content, and we do not automatically collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name or phone number just by browsing the site. However, if you choose to use the contact form or subscribe to our newsletter, you voluntarily share limited PII with us directly -- see Sections 3 and 4 below.

We collect the following types of data automatically through third-party services:

  • Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type, and country -- collected via Google Analytics 4.
  • IP address: Anonymised before storage (IP anonymisation is enabled in our Google Analytics configuration).
  • Cookies & local storage: Set by Google Analytics and Google AdSense for analytics and advertising purposes, and by SmartDaddy itself (browser local storage) to remember your language choice and cookie consent decision.

We additionally collect the following data only when you choose to provide it:

  • Contact form: Your name, email address, and message -- only if you submit the “Contact Us” form (Section 3).
  • Newsletter signup: Your email address -- only if you subscribe to our newsletter (Section 4).

2. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics collects data such as pages viewed, time on site, and approximate location (country/city level). IP anonymisation is enabled -- your full IP address is never stored.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

3. Contact Form

Our Contact page includes a form where you can voluntarily submit your name, email address, and a message. This form is processed by Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service -- we do not run our own server to receive it. Web3Forms forwards your submission to our inbox (info@smartdaddy.in) by email and does not use your information for any other purpose.

We use the information you submit only to respond to your enquiry. We retain contact form emails only as long as needed to address your query, consistent with normal email retention.

4. Newsletter Signup

If you subscribe to our newsletter (available on the Home page, Learn Hub, and article pages), we collect your email address and send it to Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), a third-party email marketing platform, which stores it in a mailing list on our behalf. Brevo may process this data on servers located outside India.

We use your email only to send SIP/investing tips and site updates. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link; you can also ask us to remove your address by contacting us (Section 13). We do not sell or share your newsletter email with anyone other than Brevo, our email-delivery processor.

5. Google AdSense & Advertising

SmartDaddy displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and can read more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

6. Cookies

We use cookies through Google Analytics and Google AdSense, and browser local storage for site preferences (language) and your cookie consent choice. Common third-party cookies you may see include _ga/_gid (Google Analytics) and IDE/test_cookie (Google AdSense). These cookies help us understand site usage and deliver relevant advertisements. You can control cookie settings through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some features.

If you previously accepted or declined cookies and want to change your choice, you can reopen the consent banner here:

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Data is shared only with the following service providers, each acting for the specific purpose described:

  • Google LLC -- analytics (Google Analytics 4) and advertising (Google AdSense).
  • Web3Forms -- delivers contact form submissions (name, email, message) to our inbox; see Section 3.
  • Brevo -- stores newsletter subscriber email addresses and sends newsletter emails; see Section 4.
  • mfapi.in -- our Indian mutual fund data source. We send no user data to this service; it is a read-only public API.
  • Yahoo Finance -- our US market data source (indices, stocks, ETFs, USD/INR rate), accessed via our own server-side proxy. We send no user data to this service; it is a read-only public data feed.

8. India -- DPDP Act 2023 Compliance

We are committed to compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the site and improve user experience. Users have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of their personal data where applicable (for example, contact form submissions or newsletter subscriptions). To exercise these rights or raise a grievance, contact us at the email address in Section 13; we aim to respond within a reasonable time.

9. Data Security

SmartDaddy is a static website hosted on Vercel with Cloudflare as a security and CDN layer. All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS. We do not store user data (contact submissions, newsletter emails) on our own servers -- that data is held by our processors (Web3Forms, Brevo) and by Google, each under their own privacy and security standards.

10. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

11. Children’s Privacy

SmartDaddy is not directed at children under the age of 18. Consistent with the DPDP Act 2023’s definition of a “child” (anyone under 18), we do not knowingly collect personal data -- including through the contact form or newsletter signup -- from anyone under 18 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of SmartDaddy after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
